American Wind Capital Acquires Assets from Oak Creek Energy

Essex, Conn. – American Wind Capital Co. (AWCC), an investor in wind and other renewable energy projects, announced that it has made a “multi-million dollar acquisition of assets” from Oak Creek Energy Systems, a developer of wind energy projects based in California and owned by Marubeni, a Japanese trading firm.

Founded in 2008, AWCC is owned by Barclays Natural Resource Investments, NGP Energy Technologies Partners, and other investors. Its business model entails offering landowners who are receiving easement royalty payments for electricity generating windmills or other renewable energy facilities on their property lump-sum payouts in exchange for their revenue streams.

AWCC is currently targeting projects in Montana, Michigan, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Texas and Oklahoma.
