San Jose, Calif. – Reel Solar, a San Jose-based developer of thin-film photovoltaic technology, has raised $15 million in venture capital, according to a new filing by the company with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Investors in the company include CalCEF Clean Energy Angel Fund, CMEA Capital and Pangaea Ventures.
Founded in 2009, Reel Solar has been operating in stealth mode, not disclosing any details about its thinf-film solar technology or business plan.
The company recently moved into a 57,860-square-foot research & development building on North San Jose, expanding from its previous facility of about 6,000 square feet, according to a report in the San Jose Business Journal.
